The 3rd Review Meeting (24M) of the PADGETS project will take place in Brussels, Av.Beaulieu BU 25 0/S5, on February 24th 2012, 10:00-18:00.
PADGETS partner Tech4I2, was invited at the Internal strategic seminar about innovative stakeholders engagement at DG INFSO on November 21st 2011 in Brussles, Belgium. David Osimo presented PADGETS to DG INFSO social media team, communication team and Digital Agenda Unit as well as to Practitioners and consultants. The presentation sparked a lot of interest and possitive feedback on twitter.
PADGETS partner POLITO, was invited to talk about PADGETS at the Torino Software Meeting in Italy on November 18th 2011. Enrico Ferro presented the project at a workshop on collaborative environments within the Turin Software Meeting initiative. He presented PADGETS to ICT Companies & Researchers. The presentation sparked a lot of interest and questions from the public.
The 5th PADGETS Meeting will take place in Zurich, Switzerland, on November 15th-16th 2011 hosted by Google.
PADGETS was presented in the IT-SA exhibition on October 11th-13th 2011 in Nuremberg, Germany. IT-SA Nuremberg, the only specialist trade fair focusing on IT security in the German-speaking world, allows an exchange of information between IT experts, as an information and presentation platform. The trade fair is amongst the most important IT security events in the world. It is the point of contact for responsible project managers, developers, practitioners and managers of national and international companies.
On September 21st 2011, PADGETS partner UREG participated in the 10th anniversary of the IT-Speicher Regensburg, which is a municipal enterprise belonging to the City of Regensburg to support the IT sector in the Upper Palatinate region. Part of the event has been a company exhibition, comprising of 35 companies and research units related to the IT-Speicher. UREG participated in this exhibition with a poster presentation.
PADGETS participated in the conference which was held on August 29th –September 2nd 2011 at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. The conference brought together the top of the scientific research community in e-government from all over the world. The conference provided a highly interactive and professional forum for exchanging research concepts, progress and results. As in the past, IFIP EGOV featured refereed paper presentations, invited keynote presentations, high-level discussion panels, workshops and a PhD Colloquium. Among them, the workshop entitled “Open Government: Contributions from Current EC-funded Projects to Citizen Participation, Good Governance and Collaborative Policy Development” was organised, during which the PADGETS contribution was outlined.
The Samos 2011 Summit on Future Internet is co-organised by the University of Aegean, the Greek Interoperability Centre of the National Technical University of Athens and the ENSEMBLE FP7 project – supportive action to the FINES Cluster, managed by European Commission - DGINSFO, in order to foster international cooperation and strive for a new research and practice agenda in future internet systems and services.
NTUA and FOCUS from PADGETS Consortium participated and presented the project at an open event on Social Web interoperability, standards and privacy, organized by W3C on June 3rd-5th 2011, in Berlin, Germany. The project was promoted through the conference's wiki and sparked a lot of interest.
PADGETS participated at the workshop which was held on May 29th - June 2nd 2011 in Heraclion, Greece. The workshop was targeting novel approaches, methods, practices and tools for turning the public information overload into an opportunity for Governance and Policy Modelling with the help of semantics, open data and Public Sector Information reuse, linked data and visual analytics. Specific importance was placed in multidisciplinary approaches, combining theoretical policy making methodologies, advanced ICT and Government 2.0 collaboration practice.
The 1st Review Meeting (12M) of the PADGETS project will take place in Brussels, Av.Beaulieu BU 31 0/82, on March 18th 2011, 10:00-17:00. The 4th PADGETS Meeting will take place in Bled, Slovenia, at Golf Hotel, on March 3rd-4th 2011 hosted by CeGD.
The meeting will be held in conjuction with the 12th Bled Forum on Europe, Foresight Conference on "Governance of Fear and Prosperity". One of the main objectives of the 12th Bled forum on Europe conference is to contribute to further advancement of information society and knowledge based good governance (policy making) in Europe and especially in south Eastern European countries.
The 3rd PADGETS meeting took place in Berlin, Germany, on November 10th-11th, 2010 hosted by Fraunhofer FOCUS.
The IT-SA exhibition which was held on 19th-21st October 2010, in Nuremberg, Germany, provided an excellent platform for presenting PADGETS, with a strong focus on the security and privacy aspects of the project. The exhibition facilitated the exchange of results between research and practice and thereby enhances the adoption of best-practices especially in the field of privacy.
PADGETS was presented at the CROSSROAD Workshop, which was held on 30th August 2010, in Lausanne, Switzerland, in conjuction with the IFIP International eGovernment Conference. The objectives of the workshop were to promote PADGETS project to a strong scientific community on Policy Making and generally on eGovernance.
The audience of the Summit, by invitation only, comprises high-level representatives from southern-eastern European governments, the European Commission, the ICT Industry and the research community, coming from more than 20 countries, including India, Australia, China and the US. Read More >
The 2nd PADGETS Meeting takes place in Rome, Italy, at Whitehall Reply premises, in May 13th – 14th, 2010. The main objectives of the meeting are to review the deliverables and fix the action plan for the next 3 months.
PADGETS participated in the CeBIT Exhibition, which was held on 2nd-6th March 2010, in Hannover, Germany. During the CeBIT Expo the PADGETS project's main ideas and goals were presented. The objective of presenting the project at a very early stage (2 months after project kick-off) was to raise early public awareness of the project and to get in contact with potential stakeholders and partners that are willing to exploit the project's results.
The PADGETS Kick-Off Meeting took place in Athens, Greece, on January 25th-26th, 2010 hosted by NTUA.
